About Me

Yuyu found Pilates over 20 years ago after a spinal injury left her in need of some serious rehabilitation and strengthening. Her connection to it grew deeper when she recognized not just the physical benefits but the overall well-being she was experiencing throughout. She then switched gears from her career as an Account Director at an advertising agency to pursue her passion for movement, teaching and connection full-time.

Yuyu's background ranges from comprehensive pilates training on all apparatuses, Rehabilitative Pilates and Physical Therapy, Pre/Post-Natal coaching, working with clients in the Peri through Post Menopausal stages of life, Myofascial Release, yoga and more. Her commitment to continued education keeps her at the forefront of exercise science and various modalities of movement.

Her teaching philosophy and methodology focus on supporting joints and areas of tension or stress in the body by strengthening the surrounding muscles and relaxing overactive or compensatory movement patterns. She is also extremely passionate about women’s health and is excited to be incorporating science-based knowledge into her coaching and practices. Her style can be described as authentic, rhythmic, challenging and fun — with a strong focus on proper alignment and balancing mobility with stability to help you attain or maintain a pain-free, active lifestyle.

While not in the studio, Yuyu enjoys reading, eating, camping, travel and time well spent with her family and friends. Originally from Southern California, she currently resides in Marin County and teaches throughout the bay area.
